Happy belated New Year to the newest member of the San Diego Zoo: A satanic leaf-tailed gecko. It's the first animal to be welcomed at the zoo this year. So pop the bubbly and call in a priest. No, no, no, it's not the devil in disguise. According to the zoo, which posted the news on its Facebook page, this gecko "gets its name from the horns above its eyes and a tail that looks like a dead leaf." The zoo notes that it is one of only seven in the nation with this particular gecko. It's one of two zoos breeding them. It's not exactly a hefty fellow. It weighs less than a gram and is smaller than a dime, according to the zoo. more-- http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2011/jan/06/san-diego-zoos-first-2011-baby-satanic/
Aww, it's so beautiful. :) I love geckos. I've seen a tiny little one catch insects that were almost the same size as its body. My mil hates them.
