Stubble, short hair, dress poorly.... even the local yoof and muggers don't bother because they feel sorry for me based on my out-of-pocket appearance.

sort of like those those cape town creatures that would crawl out from under a look and appear at the grahamstown arts festival wearing blankets and sleeping out and smoking dagga, or more like a bergie?

A haircut as regular as the sunrise and sunset :agree:

I agree with Fitz, though. Shaving every day sucks and fucks up your skin. I have lighter hair, so I can get away with going for a day or two w/o shaving.

That is why I figure go for the old style razor with blades. Those are cheap. The modern multiblade cost a fortune and clog with hair I find. top of my head I havent touched in months. sides and back is a quick run with no 1 on electric clippers every 2-3 weeks. 10 minutes Im done.

I cant really leave my face as I may have to deal with accountant, government, CEO or business types at short notice. conservative types. Bad enough I arrive in boots and no office shirt and muddy bike jacket. At least once I take off my jacket I look professional looking. Well my haircut is maybe marginal lol. A stubble would make me look lazy or just unpresentable. I dont spend time at a mirror. just to shave. Im showered and out of house in under 30 min. Cant be bothered with trimming, grooming etc. Professional men with beards keep them well groomed. shaving takes 5 min.

Correct on both counts. I get a high and tight military haircut and after a couple months when it gets unruly I get it clipped again. I look most like NB Forrest right before I go back for a haircut. I used to keep it high and tight all the time but now that I have to go out of the city to get a haircut since my neighborhood barber shop closed I don't care to make the trip unless I have other things to do when I'm out there.

Fucking Melanotan 2 made my facial hair darker. Its only temporary, but you can get away with having blonde stubble for twice as long.

Neither. I don't do the ethnic look, the avant-garde look, the hipster look or the dopehead look.

I simply do the "poor White man with less to his name than Mr EBT" look. As an additional bonus it also forms a useful insulating layer against $$ chasing wimminz.

No, not the squatter camp look either.

I'm probably your aged female counterpart. On my nightly walks, I dress as frumpishly as possible consistent with comfort: sensible, boring shoes, decent body coverage in drab garments from garage sales, and body language conveying confidence rather than allure.

    We'd get along great.

The body language item you mentioned is extremely important, how a person carries themselves is an influential factor in whether or not they'll be targeted.

People who have a sense of purpose about them and move fast, whether they are lost or not, are much less likely to be targeted. People who mill around, appear lost and confused, move slowly etc = obvious targets for a pickpocketing in a crowd or a mugging in a desolate area.

The average mugger & robber is an opportunist. Opportunity = Easy, Sure Scores. They're not going to waste their time and efforts on folks who just don't look like there's anything worth having off or folks who will present a physical challenge unless they're really hard up or bored.

It also helps when ppl act like locals, even when they aren't. Tourists & tourist look = obvious criminal magnets.

How a person dresses is the other obvious big factor. If the garb exudes an air of "the finer things in life" it's just a big advertisement begging for attention of the unwanted kind. It really puzzles me how people can be that stupid when they go off on "it's my right to dress how I like" tangents and then cry victim when they are "discriminated against" or attacked.

Women in particular.... when they dress like sluts they'll be perceived as sluts and in the real world jungle out there this can and does have consequences.....

how a hot blooded man reads your post just twisting word order and inserting a very few words (hey Im a man and hear what I want to hear!):

On my nightly walks as a possible female counterpart , I dress with alluring shoes and with confidence, consistent with conveying your comfort and rather showing decent body language. If you rather want aged frumpish, sensible, boring, coverage in drab garments, stay with your wife or your stuff will be sold in garage sales

Since this thread, I've been more observant, it appears it's a mixed bag here, beard/no beard. If they do have a beard, it's well kept.
I wouldn't call it "metrosexual", but it's well trimmed and maintained.

I stand corrected, after spending some time outside of Italy, Italian beards are metrosexual. The beards outside of Italy are better kept than Crusader's pic, tho.

What made you finally realise? The fact that Italian men spend 1 hour on their beard brushing and blow drying every day, if not at a salon, then put some kind of spray or perfume on?
