It's that simple. As the publisher of the now-laughably-shit Washington ("Democracy dies in darkness") Post, Amazon kingpin Jeff Bezos is not just - with Carlos Slim - part of the one-two oligarch combination that has destroyed American journalism, relentlessly pushing us even further left - if such a thing is even possible any longer - but it's time to face reality: there is no damage Donald Trump can do to America as Chief Executive that is not dwarfed by the botched plastic surgery Bezos and Amazon have already done to the face of American life.

I realize that nobody - particularly anyone born during/after the 80s - gives a shit about the near-complete disappearance of the physical bookstore (to say nothing of the record shop) because hardly anyone noticed them missing until they were already gone....only now, largely due either to Amazon or the Amazon model, almost every type of retail outlet outside of food/drug/auto/hardware is gone, or preparing to be Viking-funeral'd......and even the surviving SIC codes already listed are being retrofitted for the Walmart/megastore model as a survival mechanism.

These are not just thousands of jobs that are never coming back, but they are transforming the surviving jobs left in those industries into faceless, Kafkaesque entry-level/third-world existences for those "lucky" few.....but beyond the obvious economic shockwave - where whole categories and sub-categories of businesses die while a tiny handful of megacorporations (and their shareholders) thrive.......there is another question that - surprise, surprise! - the media (led by the NYT & WaPo) would rather not deal with: what happens to a formerly-free society when such vital components of social life as retail sales outlets are, in effect, swept off the map by the triumph of machines?

Think of how much of your own lives are now conducted alone, in almost a hermetically-sealed environment. Yes, yes, the convenience is incredible - undreamed-of to earlier generations. And no one is going to voluntarily give that up for the way it was just 10 and 20 years ago. But think about how much we hate and distrust one another now.....how we live in a post-Venn diagram world, within circles that never touch any of the others, let alone overlap.....is it any wonder America is now a series of linked zip codes in which it is easier for inhabitants to feel a manufactured "fellowship" with so-called oppressed (or ostracized) groups that they read/see on the countless partisan Internet sites, while feeling nothing ....except contempt and ill will.....from our own neighbors and countrymen? (Most shockingly by our so-called "elites", who greeted the news of the growing dead-end lives and early deaths of other white people with triumphant hoots of derision and despisal - naturally, on Internet venues.)

It may already be too late - particularly if you consider that any attempt by people to turn their backs on the ruling saturnine iconoclasm, by forming new communities based upon old communities will, in all likelihood, be targeted for, first, opposition; hostility; targeted persecution; antagonistic isolation, and , finally, extinction by whatever means necessary - but there's no law on any books, anywhere, that says we have to be ruled/ushered over the cliff by the same megacorporations currently in charge. Maybe the last power the people still have is the ability to collapse and bankrupt the Slims and Bezoses and Zuckerbergs of this world by refusing to use their services and/or products (any of which, being 'virtual' leviathans, could be swept aside and replaced by other 'virtual' leviathans, including startups).

There might not be any way around our post-human future, in which we all exist within our own sealed bubbles, our only methods of being heard at all are clattering on keyboards (and watch out for that option to be demonized and then withdrawn!) or choosing which purchases to make over our smartphones (a "right" that will outlive all others).....but we can periodically bankrupt our new overlords, and urge them off the plank into the circling sharks.

STOP BOOKMARKING AND PATRONIZING AMAZON.COM. Let's see if we can't make this 'viral' - if we can't actually muster a show of real-world force in the virtual kingdoms that now rule us like pawns. If you won't do it for your own self-respect, do it for your fellow man! Even....especially!....if it's already too late.

I steelz e-books, like I steelz all copyrighted material. When I Amazon, I'm buying a rare used book off some scrub out of necessity. I still patronize real bookstores though, especially pre-owned book shops. Just picked up Bullock's Hitler bio (finally) hardcover for a few bucks at one. Since it's a 60's edition it has all of the "old" Holohoax stats, i.e., they're missing 2,000,000+ poor chosenite souls. Oy vey!

I have never bought a single thing off of Amazon and probably never will. There's only about a gazillion other places online to buy things. Why Amazon? There's gotta be some underhanded fuckery going on here. Like Facebook, I can only wonder why the masses flock to these sites like cyber-lemmings.

So if you need something quickly, principles kind of fall by the wayside.

If I need something quickly I generally just go out and buy it locally. I still enjoy that whole 'perusing the marketplace' thing. Plus, a lot of local merchants offer deals on used stuff that can kick ass over online prices. I know where to go to buy guns, ammo, archery supplies, herbs, spices, computers, tech supplies and anything else I buy, sell & sometimes even trade on a daily basis, dirt cheap and local.

I hate Amazon mostly 'cuz they treat their workers like shit. Some of them are temps who literally camp out outside their shitty facilities hoping to snag a little work.
Amazon workers now living, sleeping in “tent ghettos” outside the warehouse

Their employees have been know to drop dead in their workplaces.

Worker dies at Amazon facility in Phoenix

One of the many reasons to hate and boycott Amazon is that after they bought the back then very informative IMDB website, they immediately banned the comments. Can't have the goyim criticizing kosher movies.
