Worries abound about auction house effects. by Kyle Orland Jul 23, 2012 4:16 pm UTCHaving trouble getting your wizard through Diablo III's highest difficulties without dying? Would being completely invulnerable to damage help? It's currently possible, thanks to an exploit that's spreading around the Internet this morning. The method for the madness was posted on the Blizzard forums late last night, before apparently being removed by a moderator. We've kept the signal alive below, though, if you want to try it for yourself (or, if you don't want to go to the trouble, YouTube poster Rumiah has a video of the exploit in action): Step 1: Select Teleport - Fracture. Bind it to a key Step 2: Select Archon, tested with Improved Archon Step 3: Hover your mouse over or near your character Step 4: Press Teleport Step 5: QUICKLY(!) Press Archon Forum goers aren't taking kindly to the news, with many worrying that high-level loot earned by players using the exploit will soon start flooding the game's auction houses. "Do you know how many wizards on soft and hardcore... are going to be cashing [in] on NEVER dying?" one player asked rhetorically. "The poor economy system of Diablo 3 is ruined," writes another, while a third claims to have accumulated ten legendary items in one night of play. We've said in the past that the need for constant hot-fixed tweaks to character power is a sign that Diablo III wasn't properly balanced at launch, but this is probably an exception to that rule. With Blizzard no doubt feverishly working on a patch right now, enjoy your invincible wizards while you can.
Blizzard Fixes Diablo 3 Wizard Exploit, New Barbarian Exploit Takes its Place The Diablo 3 Wizard's spell of invincibility has popped, fizzled and faded, the exploit removed by the all-powerful Blizzard hotfix. The studio announced early this morning that the latest news-making Diablo 3 bug has been squashed. Don't fret though, you can now give your Barbarian god-like abilities courtesy of another exploit. Farming, ho! Just yesterday we told you about the Diablo 3 Wizard invincibility exploit. Less than 24 hours later, Blizzard pounced, reporting on the official Diablo 3 forums: Mere minutes after the Wizard hotfix was announced, a post on the forums unveiled the Barbarian "god-like" exploit. And yes, it appears to be legit, giving Barbarians a permanent 8% life leech on all attacks. Here's how to activate it: As always, use these exploits at your own risk as Blizzard reserves the right to suspend, ban, and delete exploiters.
