1. Buy a Kindle Fire HD 8 for 90 bucks. I got one for 59.99 just before Christmas. 2. Download eBooks - PDF, ePub, MOBI. Avoid DJVU. Kindles only read PDF and MOBI natively; see step 3. I had already collected over a thousand eBooks before I bought a Kindle. Best way to go about it: build up a huge Amazon.com wishlist of paperbacks and hardbacks, then search the following sites for them by title (my ratio is about 8 finds to every 10 on the list; you can create a separate list for books that you haven't downloaded so you can search for them periodically): http://en.booksee.org http://book4you.org http://bookzz.org http://forum.mobilism.org/search.php http://gen.lib.rus.ec 3. Convert your ePubs to MOBI with Calibre. https://calibre-ebook.com 4. Copy your PDF and MOBI files to your Kindle and sell all them moldy ol' tomes on your shelf.
