They went with Xenforo, which is sort of a modern version of vBulletin (the board software we use here) -- done by former employees of vBulletin, in fact.

The Beer Barrel is jaybird's second forum -- more or less a schism of his first, Stumble Inn, http://stumbleinn.net . Both of them aim to be similar in feel to the old 'SpeakEasy' forum that some of you may recall. Niccolo and Donkey no longer has SpeakEasy on the air.
